13 Questions With JockJoking, Jesting, and
After finishing his work on The Losers and continuing to "cover" a bunch of DC heroes, Jock has begun work on an upcoming Vertigo series with Mike Carey called Fakers. But he wasn't faking when he answered a handful of crazy questions for us in this issue of Sequential Tart.
1. What food wouldn't you eat for one million dollars? Why?
Testicles. For obvious reasons.
2. What's the first record you can remember buying with your own money?
Adam and the Ants Ant Rap
3. What's your favorite winter activity?
Working in my studio without feeling like I'm missing out on the sun.
4. If you had two weeks off where you didn't have to do any kind of work at all, how would you spend the time?
Drinking ice cold beer on a beach with my family. And play a lot more music, too.
5. Mr. Magoo or the Absent Minded Professor?
Mr. Magoo
6. If you were a footballer team, which one would you be? Why?
Scotland. Because, err, I'm Scottish.
7. Diet or Regular drinks?
Regular. 'Diet'. Yeah, right. That just means they're laced with chemicals that probably do your body far more damage than a little sugar.
8. What's your favorite pizza toppings?
Jalepeno peppers.
9. When you're at comic conventions, how do you keep your spirits up and keep on your game face?
I try not to be false at all, but when energy is down and I still have a line waiting for sketches, I smile and get on with it. It's a priviliged place to be, so I try and be thankful of it.
10. What was your favorite childhood toy?
The General Lee.
11. If they were making a movie of your life, who do you hope would be writing the screenplay?
William S. Burroughs.
12. If you had a Magic 8-Ball, what sayings would you want to have on those little triangles?
Magic 8 Ball? This is an American thing right?? I have no idea what that is. Does it give you little suggestions when you throw it? Okay - 'love life', 'do things like you mean them', 'eat very very hot curry', play an instrument', 'appreciate a friend', 'relax', 'drink'... errr, how many is that?
13. What's the best advice anyone ever gave you in your life?
Deadlines are your religion. Sounds throwaway, but it's entirely profound.
