Resolutions vs. GoalsJanuary Content
The new year is off and running. Rather than resolutions, I like to set specific goals. Resolutions are often too vague to achieve, whereas goals are much more tangible and can sometimes build on themselves. An example is a resolution to lose weight vs. a goal to lose five pounds. Once achieved, that goal can be built upon to lose another five pounds. Some of my goals for the new year include goals related to Sequential Tart. For example, I have a short-range goal of providing at least one main content piece for the February issue. I also have a longer range goal of attending and providing a con report of at least four conventions this year. If I might suggest a goal for our fans and readers, if you really enjoy a specific article, interview, review, etc. from our January issue, please share the link through your favorite social media. Another suggestion is to contact us about writing your own piece, whether you want to be a regular contributor, or just have one thing you want to share through writing. In the meantime, let's all check out what our January issue has to offer.
Features begins the month with another installment of Looking at Loki, this time looking at Young Avengers issues #12 and 13. There's an interview with Jeremy Whitley (Princeless) on getting to write one of the new My Little Pony comics. Hopelessly Lost wraps up her discussion of fountain pens with some tips and insights on clogged pens and cleaning them. Tart Wolfen shares two articles focusing on ElfQuest Special: The Final Quest and the series in general.
Columns also has a Redirected Male article by Shaun Leonard, who had an opportunity to speak with Georges Jeanty about women in comics. He shares thoughts from Jeanty as well as his own insights.
Culture Vultures starts with a roundtable where Tarts discuss their thoughts on mid-season finales and their favourite fall finale episodes. I share my experience as press and a panelist at Yama-Con. We have an interview with Joanna Gaskell, writer, producer, and barbarian warrior, about the popular fantasy / comedy webseries Standard Action. There is four installments of Supernatural Talk covering episodes 9.05 to 9.08 of Supernatural. Feel free to send your thoughts in to the writers by clicking on their name to email them!
The Report Card updates weekly with reviews of new and upcoming manga, comics, graphic novels, anime, and more. |
